ABOUT BRIDGET

Bridget is 22 years old, she lives in the Bay of Islands, and came from a sailing background.

She is a very passionate individual, she had a dream since a young child where she wanted to help horses in need, she was particularly fascinated with the wild horses. Bridget's horses have been mostly from the track/rescues or from the wild.

Bridget learnt to ride on green/unpredictable horses as she could never afford a “bombproof” horse. Bridget believes horses are kind, forgiving mammals that adapt to humans.

Bridget's philosophy is working with horses based on the horse's natural instincts and methods of communication, with the understanding that horses do not learn through fear or pain, but from pressure and release or reward based training.

Bridget has worked in a range of disciplines from top eventing stables, sport horse stud, polo yards, racing stables, trekking guide and taming wild horses.

She now manages her own business independently while working full time.

With her experience working with neglected and abused horses along with many other different breeds, she is comfortable handling a variety of horses.

Bridget's teaching style is getting her students to work with there horse as partners, and to teach her students how to understand a horse's emotions and how they think.
